Protocol book.

Getting organised

The next few days are all about organisation and having food to get started on to lessen the impact and make things easier for me. With the protocol I will be following I need two portions of lean protein at 100gms serves, so I am stocking the freezer with portions I can grab and cook. I will be doing this with some of my veggies too just in case I either don't have time or I am ravenous and need to eat quickly.
Just can't wait to get started. But as with some programs if I am not ready and organised I just don't get very far and fall off. I don't want this to happen this time and am giving myself the best chance to stick with it.
This is what is all about changing my bad habits and turning myself around. This is it.

Feeling nervous

Well my program has arrived and just needs to be picked up. I have done many a diet but not one so drastic, but as I am so overweight and have been unable to restart my metabolism that it will be a good thing.
I will also be logging in a bit more regularly to keep updates about the progress, the hassles, the ups and downs, struggles and the food I am eating.

Measurements

Bust: 116.5cm
Waist: 114cm
Hip: 113.5
Thigh: 80cm
Neck: 37.5
Upper Arm: 43.5
Calf: 47.5
Weight as at Wednesday 19th October 2016: 114kg

Ok, so there it is. Not proud about any of this, absolutely disgusted at myself.
The high end of my healthy weight range is 69kgs. Yes this is absolutely doable as I have gotten to the middle of my range and was very comfortable at 65kgs. My aim is to be somewhere in between these two measurements. I know it will take me a long time, it's ok, and I'm ok. It's time, and I need to do this now.

The search for better health

I have been searching sometime for that diet/healthy food plan I can really relate to. One that is not a quick fix or missing key nutrients like on certain fruits and veg. None of this rabbit food without taste, that's bland and you wish you could eat 'normal' food again. I have been recently been looking at Paleo which sounds interesting although cutting all grains to me is a bit drastic but on the same token I think that wheat has been treated badly with all the over processing and sucking all the good stuff out of it. So I have cut back on bread and even dairy as my sinuses are very horrid.
Then one day someone has been on the Changing Habits, Changing Lives protocol. I had heard of this book and also the lady who wrote this is also big in Thermomix land (the protocol has nothing to do with Thermomix). https://changinghabits.com.au/. It basically strips you back and then slowly introducing you back to your foods, this way it enables you to find out which are your trigger foods, the ones cause inflammation in yourself. It also gets your sleeping metabolism up and running again so it attacks your fat stores. I highly recommend her book, its a fantastic read and really opens your eyes to how you can change the way you eat to get a more healthier you.
I am definitely going to start this soon so stay tune. I will also post my measurements as this will be the biggest change in me first. And maybe some now photos (even though I absolutely HATE photos in general).

A little about me And why I need to change.

ever since I hit key pre teen years (about 12 years old) I have alway been on the heavier end with weight. Teased constantly, with terrible names beening thrown at me. Even when I look back at high school I thought I was huge and kept being told this often, even by peers who were actually lager than me. 😳 After school I was still largish I hovered around a dress size 14-18, yoyoing and doing foolish dieting like the no food diet. Of course (insert sarcasm) that's how to do it, don't eat (just main meals so your mum thinks your ok) but once you start eating again you go straight back up. Anyway, I got to my biggest ever (90kgs) and was not happy, this is when I tried Weight Watchers for the first time with my friend I was renting with. That quickly ended, it was too confusing. Next it was Herb a Life. Now this worked for me at the being single and all as it cost a heck of a lot of money but only ate one real meal all day with meal replacements and vitamin pills, lots of pills, felt like I would rattle if you shook me. πŸ˜‚ I lost 15kgs in 3 months, wow it was fantastic, quick, but fantastic. I then met and married my dh. Still far from happy with my weight I was about 80kgs (put on a bit when I stopped), I was then playing soccer which I think helped me not to gain too much back when I stopped HL. I rejoined back to WW, I lost 20kgs and was in my healthy weight range. I felt unreal, shopping was awesome and being able to just pick up pants off the shelf and know they will fit without trying them on, bloody brilliant. ⬅️ (If you have ever seen Harry Potter, you have to say this like Ron doesπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). But my demons in my head got to me because of some apparently well meaning old ladies were asking if I was ok, 'you don't have cancer do you dear' you've lost too much weight, etc. So what happened I began to eat like the clappers and gained half of it back just before I was pregnant with my first child. So I lost most of my weight after Bub but started back at work where I found it all again because of poor food choices (we got feed heaps of free pizza) and just losing all control. Trying for a second child I quit work but soon found I was pregnant again but doc had me on a fairly strict eating plan as I was quite heavy when I fell pregnant again. This time only gaining baby weight I easily lost the majority of it and actually got to the fittest I had ever been, gym 3-4 times a week soccer training and the match. To cut an even longer story short, I ended up having postnatal depression (hindsight is great 😳), and pulled the weight on so much that my heaviest ever was 116kgs.
